Medical Weight Loss

  1. Vanity may get you in the door, but as physicians we care about your health
  2. Weight issues are multifactoral and obesity can be managed and treated as an ongoing entity.
  3. We are here to provide good medicine, counseling, and products
  4. We want to do the right thing as physicians and change the course of obesity by providing tools for individuals to make better choices
  5. Utilize Body Composition Analysis (BCA) equipment for consultations
  6. BCA provides information about percentage of fat, muscle and water in the body and their importance for the individual’s overall health. It will also help to outline how each program can result in weight loss over a certain time frame if followed appropriately.
  7. Patient is never under any obligation to participate in any program after the initial consultation
  8. Only a physician or physician extenders will discuss results of BCA with the patient and determine the best program for the individual
  9. Fat % from the BCA is the most important number because this is a better predictor of health and other potential risk factors
  10. Our goal is not only to get the weight off (decrease fat%) but to keep the weight off
  11. Follow up appointments and consultations always emphasize exercise and lifestyle modifications along with evaluation of BCA trends with prepared educational modules.
  12. Three basic programs are offered: Low Calorie Diet (LCD), Modified Low Calorie Diet (Modified) and Prescription Appetite Suppressants. Patients can then be followed intermittently for maintenance.
  13. Patients are managed weekly, biweekly or at other intervals as designated by the doctor
  14. Programs are generally designed for 6 and 12-week increments however everything is individualized based on patient needs.
  15. Meal replacement products are considered nutriceuticals, i.e. held to higher nutritional standards then food sold over the counter, offer good absorption and are nutritionally complete (can survive on these products alone)
  16. Each food item (bars, shakes and soups) is 160 calories
